BAPA Fighting Fund |
Another Myth to fight It is worth fighting for parity
BAPA has already
Yes we got up to $57,500, but we have now sent a total of
$52,000 to South Africa for the Carson Appeal. So we are back to little
more than $5,000 in the fund. We desperately need to start building it up
again. Contact your friends and suggest they join BAPA and donate to the
fund.
Ask them to visit our Membership page, download a form, become a
BAPA supporter, and donate to the Fighting Fund. Or print some forms off yourself and pass them around.
The British and European Courts come expensive. If you have not yet contributed yourself
please do so now. If you have already donated to the fund, take another
look at your finances. Can you afford a little more ?
BAPA has already given $52,000 to assist the Annette Carson Appeal in Court. But the Carson Appeal is not the only route to the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg. We have several other possible cases in mind, all of which will probably need funding in due course.
I believe that it would not be unfair to ask for $100 each, plus as much more as you can afford. However small sums will be equally appreciated, and acknowledged. Remember a win will mean an average additional income of $2,000 a year - well worth fighting for. We started of with one donation of $2,500 and have had several of $500 and $1,000.
A win will help all present British pensioners resident in affected countries and will ensure that those of you who have not yet reached retirement age will get your full entitlements when you do.
The more members we get the more we will be respected.
The more money we raise the more financial help we will be able to call for from Government.
The BAPA committee is convinced that the chances of winning parity now are greater than they have ever been - but we need YOUR help. We need a lot more members - the courts and the Government continually ask, how many members does BAPA have ? The answer, unfortunately, is not enough.
YOU can help by printing out Forms from this web site and persuading all your British friends and acquaintances, of all ages, to become members. Take forms along to any Clubs you visit - see if you can persuade editors of newsletters you contribute to take a look at this web site and give us a write-up - write to your local papers - phone talk-back radio programmes and press our cause in every way you can.
Whether you are already a member of BAPA or are just joining, please dig deep and see what you can afford to contribute. Minister Amanda Vanstone and many members of the Federal Government are very much on-side with us but for them to convince Government we must be seen to be doing our bit too.
